Coaches who treat your child like family

We hand-pick our team for both their professional credentials and their genuine love for working with children. That's why kids and parents see real results.

Julia P.
15+ years working with children

Julia P.

Founder & Learning Center Director

Julia is the founder of MiaAthletics and a Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics. She started in gymnastics at age three and has been in motion ever since.

After graduating from the Academy of Music and Theater in Eastern Europe with a degree in Theater & Cinema, she joined a professional dance troupe that toured internationally — including her first visit to the United States. With her classmates she later co-founded a children's film company, creating original movies for kids before moving to Miami.

For seven years she trained in jazz ballet, and as a sports aerobics coach her team placed at the 2009 World Championship. Since 2014 she has been coaching children full-time in Miami, and she opened MiaAthletics around the belief that the right approach can make any child fall in love with movement.

Her teaching mixes warmth, variety and quiet discipline — she'll change a class up to keep kids engaged, but never lets the structure slip. Parents most often describe her as the reason their child stayed.

Kate (Katya)
Levels 4–8 Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach

Kate (Katya)

Professional Gymnastics Coach & Teacher

Kate has been working with children for more than 10 years across gymnastics, choreography, theater, art, special education and early-childhood classrooms. She holds a Bachelor's in choreographic art and a Master's in teaching from a Pedagogical State University, and is a Levels 4–8 Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach.

Her style is calm and energetic at the same time. Students work at their own pace — there's always a simpler version of a pose available, progress is celebrated with applause, and language stays positive ("straighten your leg," not "stop bending your leg"). A background in stand-up and improv shows up in every class: lots of enthusiasm, a little theater, and a lot of patience.

Kate has served as Head of the Choreographic Department at a children's art school, coached competition gymnastics teams, and taught preschool and elementary kids. Her classes are explicitly inclusive — children with all needs are welcome, and parents are encouraged to share what their child needs to feel comfortable.

Salta
Specialty: beginner-to-intermediate gymnastics

Salta

Gymnastics & Movement Coach

Warm, patient and detail-oriented, Salta brings years of competitive gymnastics experience to every class. She specializes in the beginner-to-intermediate journey — the stage where habits are formed and confidence is most fragile — and has a knack for breaking the hardest skill down into a step that feels achievable today.

Kids describe her classes as "calm but never boring." Parents notice the same things our team does: she remembers the small stuff, she catches every effort, and she never rushes a child past where they actually are.
